ABBAC SHADE
This shade has been designed to stand out from others from all angles, even in daylight. The plan profile of this design is based on three interlinked waves.
As with all my leather designs each piece is made of natural vegetable-tanned leather which is cut by hand using my own-designed templates, hand-dyed using a water-based stain, and hand-stitched for both durability and aesthetics. The leather has natural markings and characteristics that affect the thickness of the material, the absorption of the stain and the finish of the surface, all of which contributes to the beauty and individuality of each piece.
The name 'Abbac' is based on the name of the lovely town I was very fortunate to grow up in on the South Devon coast called 'Babbacombe'. The design is based on the profile of a wave to represent the Devon coastline that I love.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Wipe clean with a dry soft cloth or light feather duster.
Periodically (once a year maybe) apply a little beeswax with a cloth to the leather to help condition it and maintain its lustre.
With the leather and metal elements included in this piece it is not recommended for use in high-humidity areas like bathrooms or kitchens.RECOMMENDED BULBS
Maximum wattage 25W LED.
Bulbs are not included, but I would recommend an E27 LED Vintage light bulb with amber glass to compliment the design.
A lamp shade ring adaptor is provided so the 40mm fitting for E27 lamp holders can be reduced to 28mm for B22 lamp holders.
OPTIONS AVAILABLE
- With the leather, as I hand-dye it myself the colour options are vast, though with water-based stains (which I prefer as they reflect more of the true character of the leather with them being more translucent compared to leather dyes and acrylic paints) the darker colours are always more vibrant than the lighter colours.
- The size of this piece can be modified to some extent to suit your needs - to commission a different size piece please contact Sarah to discuss this option further.
