THE PROCESS

DESIGN

In day-to-day life I genuinely love to problem solve and find viable creative solutions to meet a need; this is why I love doing commissions!

As well as having an online shop for light shades, I can produce shades or light fittings on a commissions basis that are individual to you.

Light fittings (as opposed to shades) may require the help of your qualified electrician to install them (as I am not a qualified electrician), however this should not be a limiting factor as I will provide information to you and your electrician of what is needed.

For your information, throughout the creation of a piece, the design is often refined and adapted further to generate a greater level of individuality and functionality.

STEPS

STEP 1

Contact me to arrange an opportunity to discuss further your ideas.

STEP 2

STEP 3

Email me photos of the room and the future position of the end piece so I can get a sense of scale, and email me any other photos or images that you think could help enhance the design. The more information you provide, the greater the commission can be tailor-made to you.

STEP 4

I will draw a few draft sketches and/or make a few scale models to give you an idea of at least two potential designs to fit within your budget and timescale.

STEP 5

Once the outline of the design is finalised, I will then provide you with a detailed invoice, and as soon as 50% or more of the payment is taken as a deposit, I will then embark upon your commission.

STEP 6

Once the piece is complete and the final payment is made, I will then confirm delivery arrangements with you.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

I use where I can natural materials, so please be aware that some pieces will have uneven surfaces, uneven colour, or similar anomalies, but actually these features can often provide the piece with its character and charm.
